The Wisdom of Rhiannon series draws on Geoffrey of Monmouth’s Historia Regum Britanniae written in the 12th century which gives an alternative history (to that of Julius Caesar) of the time leading up to and including the Roman invasion of Britain.

The first book traces their journey across what is now modern-day Wales. Along the way, they encounter mysterious lakes where powerful spirits dwell, discover treachery in high places, and experience at firsthand the power of the Druids. Many of the places they visit still can be found today: hill-forts, gold mines, standing stones, and mysterious lakes. But it is also about the spiritual journeys they both make as they are tested and challenged on their journey.
Both books has been extensively revised in early 2024.

The second book provides the alternative history of the Roman invasion according to the Historia Regum Britanniae. Defeat and an ignominious retreat, somewhat different from the usual story as recounted by Caesar. Who had a reputation to maintain.
